2026 Dream Con Marvel March Madness Highlights

MAYHEM. A single word for chaos and lack of control, the very thing that caused the multiverse of madness. However, in this instance, it was Dream Con's 2026 Marvel Madness bracket.
The March Madness-style tournament, influenced by the hype of Marvel Rivals, took social media by storm. 16 Marvel Universe characters engaged in battle bigger than Endgame, to determine who reigns supreme over the entire fandom. Fans studied the bracket, placed their bets on their chosen champion, and then spent the entire month voting through Instagram Stories, matching their picks round by round, hoping their character survived long enough to justify their confidence.

Similar to The Road to Dream Con, the competition was intense, featuring challenging matchups. Many considered Gambit’s defeat by Rogue in the initial round harsh, yet unsurprising. Spider-Man’s elimination by Black Panther in the semifinals was a reciprocal event to Scarlet Witch’s divisive victory over Storm in Round 2. Everyone knew Doctor Doom was going to foot dive his way to the semifinals, but the bracket had other plans.
Ultimately, the victor of the community bracket was Scarlet Witch, who rewrote reality just long enough to take down the King of Wakanda himself, Black Panther, in the finals.
Meanwhile, in another timeline (aka the Dream Con staff bracket), things got….messy.
With 32 characters in play, the chaos hit another level. We're talking fake alliances, secret agendas, cupcakes for votes, and debates so intense Doctor Strange himself couldn't have predicted the outcomes. Jean Grey vs. Scarlet Witch very nearly ended friendships.
Hulk narrowly smashed Wolverine only to get taken out by Storm in the next round. In an unforeseen turn of events, Deadpool, characterized as the “Merc with a Mouth,” beat Thanos during a tiebreaker. Spider-Man met his demise at the hands of Scarlet Witch, placing her into the finals just like our community bracket timeline.
But when it came down to it, the ending was different, and it took two rounds to settle it! In the end, the methodical, calculated, and absolutely ruthless Doctor Doom meticulously crafted manipulative strategies to secure the win. The Scarlet Witch couldn't rewrite this reality…not even with a do-over.
Two brackets. Two timelines. Two different outcomes. Yet both proved exactly the same thing: this fandom loves its Marvel characters with a passion that borders on unhinged. And we are here for every second of it!
