Programming

Programming Overview

All prospective programming hosts MUST submit their panel or event idea(s) to Dream Con by completing the Programming Application Form. A separate application form (up to 3) must be submitted for EACH panel or event that you would like to host. If more than three (3) submissions are transmitted then the most recent entries will be prioritized and reviewed.

‍

Programming applications will be reviewed by Dream Con’s Programming Department on a rolling basis. Please note that submitting an application does NOT guarantee approval. Acceptance in prior years does NOT guarantee acceptance this year. Prospective hosts will receive an email notifying the applicant if their panel or event has been accepted, rejected, or waitlisted.

As a way to honor the passion and hard work of those who help make our event so special, we’re delighted to share the Panelist Package — a collection of exclusive opportunities designed just for our accepted panelists.

‍

Complimentary Badge

PLEASE NOTE: A Panelist Badge is NOT required to host or participate in an approved panel. Panelists may participate using another valid convention badge they already hold, including a Weekend, Premium, Creator, Exhibitor, or other eligible badge types.

  • This year, accepted panelists will receive a complimentary Panelist Badge for the primary host and up to three (3) cohosts totaling a maximum of four (4) FREE panelist badges. If your panel has more than four (4) hosts — including primary — then additional Panelists Badges can be purchased at a discounted rate. Link will be provided at a later time.
  • You’ll also have the choice to use the exclusive Panelist Badge or one of your other badges to enjoy different perks
  • Accepted Panelists may pick up their badge from Registration starting Thursday, June 17, 2027. Note: You must provide a government-issued ID with the same name as your submitted application to receive your badge.

badge Purchasing Guidelines

  • We recommend waiting until acceptance BEFORE purchasing badges if you’d like to take advantage of the COMPLIMENTARY Panelist Badge.
  • Should you decide to buy a regular badge early and are later accepted, please note that NO REFUNDS or price adjustments will be available.
  • If you wait for acceptance and are not selected, we will work with impacted applicants to the best of our ability.

Waitlisted Panelists

  • Panelists that are placed on the Waitlist will be reviewed by the Programming Department on a rolling basis prior to the event.
  • If your panel gets selected from the Waitlist to join the 2027 Programming Schedule, you may pick up your badge from the Registration booth starting Thursday, June 17, 2027. Note: You must provide a government-issued ID with the same name as your submitted application to receive your badge.
  • The Badge Purchasing Guidelines listed above also apply for panelists listed on the Waitlist.

COMMUNICATIONS: Please submit all ideas/interest via the aforementioned Programming Application Form and any general questions/inquiries regarding this program via email to programming@dreamconvention.com. You may use info@dreamconvention.com as a secondary point of contact if necessary.

‍

Be advised, questions regarding on-site production or interactive features on a micro level must be reviewed by multiple departments before a response can be issued to a member of the public; even if it's only a private communication. Certain guidelines and precedents are established but each query must still be reviewed on a case by case basis. These departments include not only those operated by Dream Con coordinators but also the venue management and prospective or confirmed contractors engaged in certain agreements. Thus, the mutually agreed-upon update for your question(s) by the collective leadership can take weeks or months to finalize depending on context and scope. The Programming Department conducts outreach to relevant internal and external departments to develop concise correspondence regarding various scenarios. This will ensure your questions are answered fully in alignment with relevant stakeholders while mitigating conflict and confusion. The Programming Department does their best to be a resource and conduct interdepartmental outreach on behalf of the countless general ideas/queries received in their inbox on a weekly basis but please note a response is not guaranteed. The team can best clarify protocol and is better equipped to provide additional information to shortlisted applicants or approved submissions from the aforementioned Programming Application Form.

‍

**IMPORTANT** Please check your supplemental folders such as "Spam" and "Updates" regularly for updates and add panels@dreamconvention.com to your contacts. Missed messages will not be accepted as an excuse or exception. Any issues regarding submission of forms or documentation must be reported via email prior to established deadlines for a resolution and/or to request an extension.

‍

STATUS UPDATES:  Programming applications close on Sunday, January 31, 2027 at 11:59 pm Central Time. We will NOT accept any submissions after the application deadline. Prospective programming hosts may apply for multiple panels/events; however, Dream Con does not guarantee that all programming applications will be accepted.

‍

PRE-PURCHASED GENERAL ADMISSION BADGES: Standard weekend badges or Premium badges purchased prior to panelist acceptance will NOT be converted to panelist badges, and NO discounts will be applied.

Please note:

  • Panelist Badges are NOT upgradeable to Premium or other types of special badges.

  • Panelists interested in Premium perks or the ultimate fan experience should purchase a Premium badge instead of a Panelist Badge.

  • To take advantage of the Complimentary Panelist Badge, we recommend waiting until you receive panelist acceptance BEFORE purchasing any badges.

‍

All panelist badges are NON-TRANSFERABLE. This includes renaming/changing the name of a previously issued badge. In the event an approved primary host or co-host is unable to attend, the primary host MUST contact panels@dreamconvention.com and receive written approval from the Programming Director to authorize a personnel change in their programming. Fees may apply. Any changes will result in the previous credential becoming defunct before the new credential is distributed.

‍

PUBLIC PROMOTION: Selected programming hosts are prohibited from promoting their approved event until the designated date established by the Dream Con Programming Department. This date will be shared at a later time with all accepted programming hosts. Dream Con's Marketing and Programming departments may supply approved branding materials to approved panelists to be used on social media, websites, newsletters, collateral materials etc. All applicants utilizing unauthorized promotional materials (e.g. recolored and edited Talent/Guest announcement templates) on digital platforms without approval from Dream Con's Programming and Marketing Directors may be subject to disciplinary action including but not limited to removal from the Dream Con programming schedule, revoked admission badges, and other general event restrictions. 18+ Programming General Information

Panels and events that include any adult material or inappropriate content will be tagged as an 18+ panel/event. All members of a group or team hosting an 18+ panel or event must be 18 years of age or older by June 18, 2027. It’s the responsibility of the panelists to ensure all participants on their panel are 18 years or older. Failure to comply may result panel cancellation, immediate removal of the offending party without refund, and ultimately, expelled from Dream Con and future events.

‍

Examples of 18+ Content:
  • Hentai/Ecchi
  • Nudity or suggestive nudity
  • Yaoi
  • Yuri
  • Obsessive amounts of adult language
  • Sexuality/sexual intercourse discussions
  • Triggering or offense material

‍

General Programming Information

  • Programming Hosts that are more than ten (10) minutes late will have their event canceled and barred from applying next year. *Please note this does not include individuals affected by Acts of God “Force Majeure”, family deaths, or last-minute accidents.
  • For non-Force Majeure events, hosts must inform the Programming staff of any minor emergencies or unforeseen issues that may prevent the hosts from being on time or from hosting their scheduled panel/event at least 1-hour before their panel/event.
  • Dream Con’s Programming Department reserves the right to change, move, or revoke accepted panels or events for any reason.
  • Hosts cannot reserve seating for any attendee.
  • Hosts must yield to all instructions given by Dream Con’s Programming Staff. Failure to do so will result in panel/event cancellation and badge refund eligibility being revoked.
  • For everyone’s safety we must abide by State/Local Laws regarding room capacity and fire safety. We want as many people to attend your panel as possible, but once a room reaches capacity no one will be allowed to enter and the doors will close. Additionally, standing room is permitted for our larger spaces, but attendants are NOT allowed to block walkways and exits in case of an emergency.
  • In extreme cases we may have to entirely clear rooms of panels which cannot abide by these guidelines. This is disruptive to the panel and extremely frustrating for attendees, panelists, and staff alike so we will do our best to make sure it doesn’t come to that. The best preventative measure is ensuring we are aware of and strictly follow safety guidelines. Note: Panels that have to be cleared for safety reasons will not be granted extra time or rescheduled.

You must provide a government-issued ID with the same name as your application to receive your badge. Panelist badges will NOT be mailed to you, pickup for Panelist badges will only occur in-person. Brown Convention Center. You must provide a government-issued ID with the same name as your application to receive your badge.

‍
We recommend waiting until acceptance BEFORE purchasing tickets if you’d like to take advantage of the complimentary panelist badge. Should you decide to buy a regular badge early and are later accepted, please note that NO REFUNDS or price adjustments will be available.

Should Dream Con panel aspirants purchase an admission badge?

Dream Con is now offering complimentary Panelist Badges that include FREE weekend entry for all badge holders.

Complimentary Panelist Badges are available for the main host and up to three (3) co-hosts totaling a maximum four (4) complimentary badges available per panel.

‍
We strongly recommend waiting until panel decisions are made before purchasing a general admission badge to take full advantage of the perks we’re offering this year. If you are rejected and are not able to receive a badge due to sellouts, please contact panels@dreamconvention.com and we will work with impacted individuals directly to the best of our ability.

‍Note: Panelist Badges are not required to host your panel, you may do so with a General Admission or Premium Admission badge. Additionally, we cannot guarantee that we are able to provide you with a general admission badge in the chance of total event sellout.

Can we get more than four (4) Panelist Badges for our group?

Additional Panelist Badges are available to purchase at a discounted rate for accepted panelists with department approval. Requests for additional badges must be made by the primary applicant no less than 60 days prior to the convention start day. Link will be directly shared to eligible recipients at a later time.

As the primary applicant, can I pick up all the badges for my group?

No. Members must pick up their badges individually and provide a government-issued ID. There are no exceptions!

Can we change the names of a host participating in our event?

Yes, but only once. This request must be submitted in writing via email and approved by the Programming Director beforehand. Additional details will be provided to approved applicants regarding the process  in their confirmation documents.

I applied last year and my panel/event was accepted/rejected. Does past approval impact my submission for this year?

No, past approvals do not guarantee that your application will be approved for Dream Con 2027.

Can I make any changes to my application after submitting (including but not limited to description, title, name exchange etc.)?

Yes! Changes to your application regarding the description, title, and co-hosts can be made after application submission. As a part of our preparation process, our team will provide you with a Panel Change Request Form to make any adjustments to your event after decisions are announced. Deadline to make changes to your panel will be shared with accepted panelists at a later date. Please note that we will not accept changes once that form has been closed without Department approval for outlying cases.

‍Changes regarding the content of approved panels are not guaranteed. If panel decisions are not released and applications are still open, we recommend submitting a new application with the new content.

Will Dream Con compensate or accommodate my team?

No. Dream Con does not offer financial compensation or accommodations (travel, lodging, meals, parking, etc.) for any programming host or group.

I applied for a panel badge but my application was rejected, and I did not buy a ticket for Dream Con during the public ticket releases. Now what?

We strongly recommend waiting until panel decisions are made before purchasing a general admission badge to take full advantage of the perks we’re offering this year. However, if you are rejected and are not able to receive a badge due to sellouts please contact panels@dreamconvention.com and we will work with impacted individuals directly to the best of our ability.

I live out of state but would love to host a panel/event. Should I buy a plane ticket before getting approved and will my location count against me during the application process?

You should apply if you are already interested or will be attending Dream Con. Your location will not negatively affect your application. Please be advised that flights become more expensive when closer to the date of the event. We recommend that you work out your accommodations as soon as possible before applying to host a panel or event.
