Celebrating the Art of Film: From MICHAEL to Dream Con Film Fest

We’re excited to see MICHAEL hit theatres this Friday, where audiences will have the opportunity to learn more about the story of one of the most influential music artists of all time, Michael Jackson. The biopic traces Jackson’s history from his early days with the Jackson Five to his rise to become a global icon, highlighting his groundbreaking performances and the creative fire and vision that ultimately shaped his legacy.

Movies like this continue to remind us how powerful film can be in capturing and preserving key moments in our culture and history, so we’re excited to be bringing back our Film Festival this year!

In partnership with Black Cinema Club HTX, the Dream Con 2026 Film Festival is offering new and seasoned filmmakers a chance to have their own work featured during this year’s convention, with up to $1,200 in prizes. Have a story you want to share on the big screen? Creators are invited to submit their original short films by May 31. Learn more about our submission guidelines and how to submit here.
