Jamal Watson

Jamal Watson is a film producer and writer who has spent his career turning big ideas into even bigger stories. For eleven years, he was part of the powerhouse team at Overbrook Entertainment alongside Will Smith, Jada Pinkett Smith, and James Lassiter — where he helped bring projects like the live-action Aladdin (which grossed over a billion dollars worldwide), the breathtaking National Geographic docuseries One Strange Rock, and the Netflix docuseries Amend to life. He also produced Sprinter, a heart-pounding coming-of-age film shot in the beautiful landscapes of Jamaica, and Hala — which made history as the first film ever sold to Apple.

From 2021 to 2025, Jamal leveled up even further at Jordan Peele's Monkeypaw Productions, where he produced the critically acclaimed docuseries High Horse on Peacock, the film Him, and the 2024 reboot of Scare Tactics on USA Network and Peacock — so yes, he's probably responsible for at least a few screams. Now, as an independent producer, he's developing a video game adaptation with gaming giant Ubisoft, collaborating with some of music's biggest names including Kid Cudi and Ed Sheeran, and adapting the award-winning short Spilled Milk by director Jared Leaf into a feature film. Whether it's a documentary, a thriller, or something that hasn't been done before, Jamal is always chasing the next story worth telling — and rumor has it, he might be cooking up a little something with RDCWorld.
