Dream Con Celebrates Black Women in Entertainment for 2025

Black women are redefining entertainment across music, film, and television, and Dream Con is here to celebrate their impact. This Women’s History Month, we’re highlighting three powerhouse artists who are breaking barriers and setting new standards in entertainment.

Doechii

Doechii is a rising force in hip-hop, known for her genre-bending sound and electrifying performances. With a unique blend of rap, R&B, and alternative influences, she’s been making waves in the music industry and building a dedicated fanbase.

Doechii has been nominated for several prestigious awards and performed at major music festivals. Her latest album, Alligator Bites Never Heal,  has been critically acclaimed for its innovation and bold artistic vision.

Before her mainstream success, Doechii went viral on social media for her experimental and theatrical music videos.

Keke Palmer 

Keke Palmer is a multi-talented entertainer who has been in the industry since childhood. From starring in films and TV shows to producing and hosting, she continues to prove she’s one of the most versatile figures in entertainment today.

Palmer has recently starred in high-profile projects, including One of Them Days and Jordan Peele’s Nope and her own production ventures. She’s also making waves in the gaming and animation world, lending her voice to major projects like the Ice Age franchise and Winx Club.

She was the first Black woman to star as Cinderella on Broadway.

Rico Nasty 

Rico Nasty is a trailblazing rapper known for her high-energy performances and punk-inspired aesthetic. She has redefined what it means to be a female artist in hip-hop, blending rap with rock and electronic influences.

Rico Nasty’s latest projects have solidified her as a creative visionary, earning collaborations with top artists and brands. Her next album, Lethal, is set to release on May 16th, 2025.

She originally started making music in high school as a way to cope with personal struggles, eventually turning her passion into a full-fledged career.
